One of the great things about the town of Concord is its architectural beauty. This is the home to 197 houses and buildings on the national historic registry. I have always loved history. I was a history major at the University of North Carolina and kept up those interests as I walked and walked all over my beautiful hometown. I then expanded that walk in every direction from where I live and work, learning about the beautiful homes and the people that love and take care of them. In fact, I got to teach high school students public speaking in the J. W. Cannon house built back in 1900. Sometimes, Concord homeowners will open those historic houses to tours in the evening, especially around Christmas. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the true ambiance of these classic old homes.
Give me a call sometime. I will be happy to take you around and show you the history of the downtown and I will introduce you to some of these fascinating people who take care of these wonderful pieces of history.
